Our bill to save our pogies [HB955] will be heard by the Envirnomental and Natural Resources Committtee May 10, 12:00 noon , Room 643 Legislative Office Building. Directions are posted on this web site[check out past postings].It is critically important that between now and then that everyone continue to make contact with the Committee members. The lobbyist for Omega was able to get bill put off a week so he would have more time to rally his troops so we must do the same. Also critically important to please attend the hearing. Same game; we must make a big impression to Committee as  the opponents are working hard to discredit our effort. They are trying to build a coalition of unions, minorities, and agriculture interest as well as commercial fishing interest. Our coalition is simply you voters but you must loudly make your voice be heard.

For those coming from our coastal area, we have a bus that will leave from Ocean Isle Beach May 10 at 7:00am for the trip to Raleigh and will be back that afternoon. We'll do fishing seminars ect on trip so please go with us. The bus will leave from the Town of Ocean Isle Beach town hall. Come across intercoastal waterway on to island, past the Ocean ISle Fishing Center, and take the 1st right turn onto 3rd street. Town hall is right there, can't miss it. Park in grassy area beside Town Hall.
